Circle to Search is coming to Nothing Phone (2) and (2a) smartphones after Android 15 update
Google's Circle to Search feature, which was first available on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices in 2024, is now available on Nothing Phone smartphones after the release of the Android 15 update.
Here's What We Know
The update was released in December 2024 and is already available for the Nothing Phone (2), Nothing Phone (2a) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus models with the new Nothing OS 3.0.
This feature was added after additional testing of the three devices. Circle to Search is now available for Nothing OS 3.0 users on the Phone (2), Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus devices, although the latter is still in beta.
The official stable update to Android 15 is already available for the Phone (2) and Phone (2a) models, while the update is only available in beta for the Phone (2a) Plus.
Circle to Search allows users to search for content on the screen by simply circling or highlighting text. The feature can be accessed by pressing and holding the home button or the navigation bar, depending on the navigation settings.
Nothing representatives also noted that other models of the brand's smartphones will receive Circle to Search support after updating to future versions of Nothing OS 3.0, including the aforementioned Japanese version of Phone (2a). This also gives hope that the first generation of Nothing Phone may also support this feature.
Nothing has recently completed beta testing of its Nothing OS 3.0 operating system based on Android 15 and started rolling out its stable version. In early 2025, the update will be available for the Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1.
