Fitbit is recognised as one of the most energy-consuming smartphone apps
According to a recent study, the Fitbit app was recognised as one of the most battery-consuming apps on smartphones.
Here's What We Know
The study included both iOS and Android versions, and the problem was detected even when the app was running in the background. Fitbit shared the first place with a social platform, and a total of 20 apps were named as the most battery-draining.
The report was published by OurPCB, a Chinese PCB manufacturer. It presents the 20 iOS and Android apps that cause the most battery consumption on your smartphone.Over time, this load can lead to a decrease in the efficiency of the device's battery.

The Fitbit app tied for first place with Instagram, with both apps using about 85% of the battery. This level of consumption was observed even without active use of the app.
The top six also includes Tasker, AliExpress, Facebook, and LinkedIn, each of which can use up to 80% of the battery. The top 20 also includes Whatsapp, X, Revolut, Telegram, and Uber, where battery consumption is about 75%.
The study also draws attention to app permissions, such as location tracking and Wi-Fi usage, which can be the main factors in significant battery drain. However, it does not specify which versions of the apps were tested and under what conditions the tests were conducted.
