According to the latest leaks, MediaTek is already working on a new flagship Dimensity 9500 processor, which is rumoured to get a significant performance boost.

Here's What We Know

According to a reputed tipster Digital Chat Station, the new chip will use a 2+6 architecture, with two Cortex-X930 cores and six Cortex-A730 cores. The two main cores will be able to reach peak clock speeds of up to 4GHz, which is a significant improvement over the current Dimensity 9400 chip, which runs at a maximum frequency of 3.63GHz.

It is rumoured that the Dimensity 9500 will be built on TSMC's 3nm N3P process, which will offer improved power efficiency. The processor will also utilise ARM's Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), which should improve multi-threaded performance.

It is quite possible that the new Dimensity 9500 processor could be a worthy competitor to Qualcomm's second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is also rumoured to use a 2+6 architecture. The Dimensity 9500 is expected to launch in late 2025.
