The cost of the iPhone SE 4 may increase
According to a new report, the fourth generation iPhone SE may cost slightly more than the current model, according to sources in Asia.
Here's What We Know
Information from a Japanese source, published on the Korean website Naver, indicates that the price of the new iPhone SE 4 will be less than 78,000 yen (approximately $500). However, the cost of the device in Korea is likely to exceed 800,000 won ($540). This suggests that the new product may cost a little more than the previous model, which starts at $429.
Earlier it was reported that the new model could retain the starting price of $429 or receive a slight increase of 10%, which puts the cost at $470. However, Apple is likely to keep the price point under $500 in the US, even if the price goes up.
The iPhone SE has always been a budget version of Apple's smartphones, but a slight price increase seems reasonable given the expected updates such as Face ID, a more modern design with a full screen, OLED display, USB-C port, and other new features.
The fourth generation iPhone SE could be unveiled as early as March 2025.
According to new data from a Korean source, the iPhone SE 4 will feature a single 48-megapixel camera on the back and a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front.
The main supplier of camera modules will be LG Innotek, with Foxconn and Cowell Electronics also taking part in the production.
As of 28 December 2024, Apple has completely stopped selling the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone SE 3rd generation in most EU countries. This decision is due to new legislation that comes into force in the European Union.
