It took Xiaomi nine months to reach its adjusted 2024 target of delivering 130,000 SU7 electric sedans to customers.

Here's What We Know

The SU7 is Xiaomi's first production car. It was launched in the Chinese market on 28 March with prices starting from 215,900 yuan ($29,600). In the first months, the company faced production problems, but then quickly returned to the targets and even managed to adjust them upwards. The fact is that Xiaomi's original goal was 100,000 cars by the end of 2024. But after production increased to 20,000 units per month in June, the sales target for the end of the year was increased to 130,000 cars. Xiaomi met it in 275 days.

Plans for next year

Xiaomi will launch the second phase of its car factory in 2025 to further increase production and sales. The company also plans to launch a three-motor sedan version called SU7 Ultra and a new Xiaomi YU7 crossover (pictured below).

The 4,999mm long Xiaomi YU7 will debut with two electric motors with a combined output of 508kW (681bhp) and a CATL NMC battery. The battery capacity has not been officially announced yet, but the top speed of 253 km/h has been revealed.
