OnePlus has fully revealed its upcoming affordable smartphone, the OnePlus 13R, which will debut on the global market on 7 January alongside the OnePlus 13, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Here's What We Know

On the eve of the official presentation, the company revealed details about the new product and refuted some of the previous assumptions.

Contrary to previous rumours, OnePlus 13R will probably not be a full version of the Chinese Ace 5 model. As expected, the smartphone will have a smaller battery compared to the Chinese variant, but most of the main features remain unchanged. In particular, OnePlus 13R will be available in two colours: Nebula Noir and Astral Trail. The Chinese version of the Ace 5 also offers a third colour - celadon with a ceramic coating.

In terms of specs, the OnePlus 13R is likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which the company says delivers performance on par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.5. The smartphone will be equipped with 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. The main camera is likely to remain unchanged and include a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera will have a 16 MP selfie camera.

The price of the new model has not yet been announced, but we should expect it to remain within $500, as it was with the previous OnePlus 12R model.

OnePlus also seems to be preparing to release new smartwatches, including the OnePlus Watch 3 model with an updated design and numerous new health features. The official OHealth app has confirmed some of the device's features.
