On the night of 1 January 2025, during the New Year celebrations, Lei Jun, co-founder and CEO of Xiaomi, held a live broadcast in China.

During the broadcast, he not only shared news about the company but also presented the new Redmi Turbo 4 smartphone, which is likely to go on sale on January 2, becoming the first phone of the year.

The design of the novelty is no longer a secret, as Xiaomi has released images of the model in Cloud White colour. In real life, this version was also demonstrated by Lei Jun during the broadcast. Turbo 4 has an elegant and clean design with a vertical dual-camera module. The rear panel of the smartphone has a distinctive red line that runs through the frosted glass, adding to the uniqueness of the device.

As for the technical specifications, Redmi Turbo 4 will be equipped with a Dimensity 8400-Ultra chip, a 6550 mAh battery, and IP69 protection. The smartphone also comes with a five-year battery warranty. Although the Turbo 4 is positioned as a simplified version of the Redmi K80, the company has not yet revealed all the details.

According to rumours, the Redmi Turbo 4 will feature a 6.67-inch flat-panel screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by HyperOS 2 and Android 15, and will feature up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

In terms of cameras, the Turbo 4 will have a 20-megapixel front camera, and the rear panel will feature two cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support and an additional 8-megapixel shooter. Other features of the smartphone include 90W fast charging, an infrared port, dual speakers and a built-in fingerprint sensor. The model will be available in black, white and blue colours.
