Samsung may make Good Lock available in all countries with One UI 7.0 update and via Google Play Store
After nearly a decade of limited access, Samsung has announced that the Good Lock app, which allows for significant user interface customisation on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, will be available in all countries.
Here's What We Know
Samsung has made it clear that the situation may change with the release of One UI 7.0 (Android 15) for Galaxy devices, and one of the company's employees officially confirmed this. Besides, the company will make the application available not only through the Galaxy Store but also through the Google Play Store.
Good Lock allows users to change various aspects of the interface, including the lock screen, notification panel, and add various features to improve the experience of working with the device. This app was only available in limited countries, which caused a lot of criticism from Samsung fans. Now the company plans to rectify this situation and make the app available to all users.
The plan to publish the app on the Play Store was first announced in early 2024, when the app's page temporarily appeared on the Play Store before the official launch. This means that users can get the app through their usual Android app store.
As for the exact launch date, Samsung has not yet announced a specific date. However, given the plans to launch One UI 7.0, we can expect Good Lock to be available globally and on the Google Play Store after the update rolls out to the Galaxy S24 series and other compatible devices.
According to previous rumours, the stable version of One UI 7 is due to be released in February 2025, which will likely coincide with the expansion of access to Good Lock.
