Tesla has unveiled a new accessory for the Cybertruck - a $60 metal key card
Tesla isn't stopping at making only electric cars, adding more and more accessories to its online shop. The latest update is a metal key card for Cybertruck owners.
Here's What We Know
The Cybertruck, like other Tesla models, comes standard with a plastic key card that can be augmented with a digital key function on a smartphone. But the metal version is a "convenient, durable and versatile" alternative, according to the manufacturer.
This key card (shown in the photo in the gallery below) is made of stainless steel and is suitable for situations where a smartphone is unavailable or you need to hand the car over to someone else - a friend or, say, a valet.
Functionally, the metal card does not differ from the usual plastic card, but thanks to a different material looks more "status". The novelty costs $60, which is $20 more expensive than a plastic card.
Why is it necessary?
Tesla knows how to create a cult around its products, and the metal key card is just another way to reinforce this status. For Cybertruck owners who value exclusivity and are willing to spend money on accessories, the novelty will definitely be an interesting addition.
