Asus unveils ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM gaming monitor with 4K, 240Hz and DisplayPort 2.1a support
Asus has officially unveiled the new ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM gaming monitor, which combines Samsung Display's advanced Gen 4 QD-OLED technology with the latest connectivity.
Here's What We Know
The monitor supports DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 with up to 80Gbps bandwidth, which allows you to display 4K images at 240Hz refresh rate without using Display Stream Compression (DSC). This greatly improves the image quality for gamers by delivering high definition at the highest refresh rate.
The ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM features a Gen 4 QD-OLED panel with 166 PPI, which improves text readability. In addition, Asus claims that the new panel is 20% less prone to flicker than previous QD-OLED models. This makes working with the monitor more comfortable for the eyes during prolonged use.
The maximum SDR brightness reaches 250 nits, and the GtG response time is only 0.03 ms.
The monitor supports adaptive sync technologies, including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-SYNC, which significantly reduces the risk of tearing during intense gaming. In addition, the PG27UCDM is equipped with HDMI 2.1, as well as multiple USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports, the latter of which supports charging devices with a capacity of up to 90W.
Asus has not yet announced the price and launch date of the model. However, the company usually does not disclose these details during CES, which will be held from 7 to 10 January 2025.
The novelty has already attracted the attention of technical observers and gamers who expect it to go on sale in the coming months.
