Casio may announce new G-Shock GM-2100YM-8A and GM-5600YM-8 metal watches with Tough Solar and water resistance features
New leaks have emerged about two upcoming Casio G-Shock watches - GM-2100YM-8A and GM-5600YM-8.
Here's What We Know
According to preliminary data, these models may be presented as early as January this year. They have a metal design and may include features such as Tough Solar, water resistance up to 200 metres, and world time.
The GM-2100YM-8A builds on the popular octagonal bezel design of the 2100 series, which features a modern and minimalist style. From the leaks, it is noticeable that the watch has a polished silver case that is combined with a lightweight rubber strap that provides durability and comfort. This watch is expected to have the characteristics inherent in the series: charging via Tough Solar, water resistance up to 200 metres and a world time function. The estimated price of this model is ¥40,150 (about $255).
GM-5600YM-8, is based on the classic square design of the 5600 series and also has a metallic silver look. This model will cost slightly less - ¥37,400 (approximately $237). It is likely to come with features such as an automatic calendar, LED backlighting, and multi-purpose alarms.
These models are part of Casio's strategy of combining metal parts with a rubber case in its watches. The company has previously released models with similar design solutions, such as the GM-B2100D-1A and GM-5600SN-1.
All of these details are currently based on leaks, so official confirmation from Casio is still awaited. More accurate information may appear closer to the release date.
