Amid modest announcements about the future of the Detroit Auto Show, CES 2025 promises a real show. LG announced a futuristic "Lifestyle Solution for Mobility" concept van with a modular interior and smart technology.

Here's What We Know

The main feature is the dual interior design. At the front appears to be a traditional cockpit, while at the back is a "customisable experience room" that can be turned into a studio for content creators, a business lounge, a hobby or relaxation area.

Promo images from LG's press release show that a fridge, wine cooler, TV, comfortable seating and even wood panelling can be integrated into the cabin.

The concept is based on LG's Mobility Experience (MX) platform, which is said to be in line with "prevailing automotive industry trends and customer preferences that are moving away from traditional notions of transport and towards the idea of vehicles as personalised living spaces". Key platform capabilities:

  • Integration of AI solutions.
  • The ability to check schedules, order food or manage other aspects right from the car.
  • Integration of LG devices and services for maximum comfort.

What else has LG prepared for CES?

Apart from the "Lifestyle Solution for Mobility", LG will be presenting an "AI-based cabin sensor solution" at CES 2025. It uses artificial intelligence as well as driver and cabin monitoring systems to adapt to your needs, from personalised driving routes to information about nearby points of interest.

The system can also detect a driver's health and emotional state using real-time heart rate monitoring and facial expression recognition technology. This can be used to alert drivers to their "level of alertness and overall wellbeing".

LG's new developments will be officially unveiled as early as next week. CES 2025 will take place in Las Vegas from 7 to 10 January.
