Apple releases AirPods 4 engraved with a snake symbol in a limited edition
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, which begins on 29 January, Apple has released a limited edition of AirPods 4 headphones decorated with a special engraving symbolising the Year of the Snake.
Here's What We Know
These AirPods 4 are available for purchase in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. They are no different from the standard AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation, but their USB-C case is decorated with a unique symbol of the Year of the Snake.
The AirPods 4, released earlier this year, were Apple's first active noise-cancelling headphones without silicone earbuds. They also support adaptive sound, transparency mode, and spatial sound.
AirPods 4 have a similar design to AirPods 3, but with some innovations. The most important update is the new H2 chip, which provides improved sound quality, including voice isolation and personalised spatial sound. These features were previously only available in AirPods Pro 2, but now they will be available in the new AirPods 4.
Customers can order the limited edition AirPods 4 today, with deliveries starting on 8 January. Each customer can purchase no more than two of these sets.
Creating special editions of AirPods is a tradition for Apple. In previous years, the company has released personalised AirPods Pro models to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, Ox, Tiger, and Rabbit.
In addition, Apple is holding a New Year's Eve promotion in China, reducing the price of iPhone 16 models by 500 yuan and offering discounts on other devices such as AirPods, Macs, iPads, and accessories. The company will also organise themed Today at Apple sessions from 4 January to 14 February dedicated to the Year of the Snake.
