Elden Ring: Nightreign will deviate from FromSoftware's traditional form in several ways, including a greater emphasis on co-operative gameplay and a role-playing game-like structure. Other changes include the removal of the message system, which is a staple of the studio's souls-like games.

Here's What We Know

In an interview with IGN, game director Junya Ishizaki confirmed that Nightreign will abandon the ability to leave and read player messages, as each game session will last about 40 minutes, so players simply won't have enough time to write and read messages effectively.

Since Nightreign is a co-op spin-off, these changes are not very surprising. The bigger question is, will it be able to deliver an immersive experience despite these changes? We will see that during the release.

Where To Play

Elden Ring: Nightreign will be released this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
