Rust developers celebrate 260 thousand simultaneous players on Steam
Facepunch Studios director Alistair McFarlane has announced an important milestone for the multiplayer survival game Rust: in a recent Twitter post, he announced that the game has reached a new peak of 259,646 simultaneous players on Steam.

Shortly after the post, SteamDB reported an even higher peak of 262,284 concurrent players - the first time Rust has reached this number since the launch of early access.
Throughout 2024, Rust has seen impressive growth: 5.5 million unique players, 40 million hours of play, and 325 million sessions.
Updates during the year included new vehicles such as bicycles and motorbikes, an updated world map with new places of interest, backpacks as new equipment, additional weapons, and various quality of life improvements.
