Xiaomi has unveiled a new Walkie-Talkie sports walkie-talkie, which is already available for pre-order in China and has some features.

Here's What We Know

The device supports TD-LTE wireless data technology and provides communication up to 5,000 kilometres. The walkie-talkie is compatible with 4G networks from major operators such as China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Its compact size (54 x 55.6 x 22.3 mm) and weight of only 67 grams make it convenient for use in active sports such as skiing, cycling and hiking.

The radio is equipped with a 1030 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery that provides up to 24 hours of continuous use or 36 hours of standby time. The unit can operate in temperatures as low as -30°C thanks to an advanced low-temperature battery.

The built-in noise cancellation chip minimises wind noise, ensuring clear communication even at speeds of 60km/h. The radio is IP65 rated against water and dust, and features a magnetic quick-disconnect system for easy attachment to a variety of gear.

Additional features include Bluetooth connectivity to act as a speaker, a lost device search mode, and integration with the Xiaomi Walkie Talkie app for team management and location sharing. The device is priced at 399 yuan (about $54 USD) in China.
