Samsung Display, a leading OLED panel manufacturer, has announced a new generation of QD-OLED panels for TVs that will be unveiled at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

Here's What We Know

The new panel is capable of reaching a peak brightness of more than 4,000 nits, which is 30% brighter than the previous model, which reached 3,000 nits. This is made possible by advanced panel control technology and new organic materials.

The 4000 nits brightness is achieved through the use of red, green and blue sub-pixels, which ensures the highest colour purity. Unlike LG Display's WOLED panels, which use white subpixels, Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels deliver deeper and cleaner colours.

At CES 2025, the company will demonstrate a 77-inch prototype TV with the new panel and will also create a media art space called "QD Jungle" to showcase the capabilities of the new panels. These panels could be used in Samsung's next generation of OLED TVs.
