Dodge sold two cars in 2024 that have not been in production for years
In the US, two buyers have managed to acquire technically new examples of two zombie cars long since discontinued. One is the Dart sedan, whose production was discontinued in 2016, and the other is the Viper, which left the assembly line in 2017.
Here's What We Know
The Dodge Dart sedan was produced from 2012 at the Dodge Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois. The model peaked in 2015 with 87,908 units sold. Despite the end of production in 2016, almost every year the brand's dealers manage to sell at least a few copies of the Dart from old stock. The only exception was 2022.

The fifth-generation Dodge Viper coupe was produced from 2012 at the Conner Avenue Assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan. After being removed from production, this model, like the Dart, did not receive a successor. Moreover, Dodge is now electrifying its model lineup, so it is highly unlikely that we will ever see another V10-powered sports car.

What will happen to the morally obsolete but technically new examples of Dodge cars is not known. We can only assume that the Viper went to someone's garage and in the future may be sold at auction. However, the Dart may well be operated as an everyday car.
