At CES 2025, Samsung has unveiled a new line of TVs that now feature Vision AI. This update applies to all 2025 TV models - Neo QLED, OLED, QLED, and The Frame. Yes, even TVs can no longer live without artificial intelligence - it will now be with us in everything from smartphones to kitchen mixers (irons are still being designed).

Here's What's New About It

The leader of the show was the Neo QLED 8K QN990F TV, which, according to the company, should provide excellent image quality. The QN990F also has an ultra-thin body with a minimalist design (never before and never again).

TVs with Vision AI have new features:

  • Click to Search: to find out what is displayed on the screen (now, just like in a smartphone, and it's not even Android).
  • Live Translate: translate subtitles in real time. Finally, you will be able to watch foreign films with subtitles that do not depend on localisation.
  • Generative Wallpaper: the screen creates "art" on its own to match your mood or interior. Well, almost art.

Here are a few more "magic" features Samsung hopes to impress with (and that we've probably never seen before):

  • 8K AI Upscaling Pro - artificial intelligence "upscales " old VHS tapes to 8K, although grandma will still say that "it was better on the tape".
  • Auto HDR Remastering Pro - each frame is processed so that even at night all shades of darkness are visible.
  • Adaptive Sound Pro - no more "what did he just say?" thanks to sound optimisation for dialogue, music and explosions.
  • ColourBooster Pro - colours that are so vivid that cats start catching butterflies off the screen.
  • AI Mode - a mode that adjusts the picture and sound itself, depending on the content and your room. No one knows how it does this, because it's "AI magic".

Integration with Samsung SmartThings

Now your TV can tell you if your dog is behaving suspiciously or if your fridge forgot to close the door (but it's not certain). All this is thanks to integration with SmartThings. Samsung emphasises that this is an important step forward, but it seems that the TV is becoming more like an all-knowing neighbour. Features include:

  • Home Insights:
    • Real-time updates on the state of the home.
    • Security alerts, such as open doors or windows.
    • Daily reports for peace of mind at home and away.
  • Pet and Family Care:
    • Monitor the behaviour of pets and family members.
    • Detect unusual activity, such as when a child is sitting still for too long.
    • Automatically adjust room conditions, such as dimming the lights when a child falls asleep.
    • Provides real-time updates and access to recorded events via TV.

Samsung The Frame Pro

The updated The Frame Pro now looks even more like a painting, but it's still a TV. Thanks to the NQ4 Gen3 AI Processor, the TV offers improved picture quality with brighter colours, deeper blacks and sharper contrasts. This processor uses artificial intelligence algorithms to adapt the picture, ensuring that both videos and artwork look their best.

Another important feature of The Frame Pro is Wireless One Connect technology. It reduces the number of cables by connecting wirelessly to the external unit, simplifying the connection and improving the interior impact by eliminating some of the cables.

And the collaboration with Art Basel will expand the Samsung Art Store collection to 3,000 images so that this TV can further emphasise that its owner is a true aesthete. In 2025, this expanded collection will be available not only for The Frame and MICRO LED series, but also for Neo QLED and QLED models.
