It became known how many Ford Mustang cars were sold in 2024 in the United States. Only 44,003 units, which was the worst result in the 60-year history of the pony car. Sales of the petrol version fell to such an extent that even the electric Mustang Mach-E, which is considered "not a real Mustang" among fans of the original model, surpassed its relative by more than 7,000 units.

Here's What We Know

Ford Mustang sales have been steadily declining for years, with the exception of 2023, when the numbers rose slightly. Previously, the worst sales year ever was 2022, when 47,566 units were sold. A closer look at the numbers reveals a sharp decline at the end of the year. In the fourth quarter, for example, sales were down 43.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2023, when just 7,518 cars were sold. That's frighteningly close to the Chevrolet Camaro's sales stats before General Motors retired it.

2024 Mustang:

Meanwhile, sales of the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E in 2024 reached 51,745 units, up 27 per cent from 2023. The model had a particularly successful fourth quarter with 16,119 units sold - an increase of 35.6 per cent. This success was helped in part by the Blue Oval's aggressive pricing policy, as well as various buyer incentives.

2025 Mustang Mach-E Premium Sport Appearance Package:

In terms of pricing for the current lineup, the 2025 model year Mustang Mach-E starts at $38,490 for the Select package with rear-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the 2025 EcoBoost petrol Mustang starts at $33,515, the same as for the 2024 version. However, prices for the Mustang GT have increased by $2,600, with the most affordable version now priced at no less than $47,055.
