Astro Bot, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Balatro won the most Game of the Year awards among 2024's new releases
It's been revealed which 2024 game is recognised as the most titled!
Here's What We Know
The Gamefa portal aggregates information about which games have received the most awards and counts their number.
The result is predictable: the 2024 Game of the Year award leader was the cute platformer Astro Bot - it collected 104 of these awards and also became the most titled platformer in the history of video games.
Second place went to another PlayStation 5 exclusive - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and the third place went to the main indie hit of the year - Balatro.
Surprisingly, the acclaimed Chinese action game Black Myth: Wukong received only 21 Game of the Year awards, although it seemed to be rated much higher, and the long-awaited Ukrainian shooter is sadly in 13th place.
The following games received the most recognition in 2024:
- Astro Bot - 104 (36.6%);
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 37 (13%);
- Balatro - 28 (9.9%);
- Metaphor: ReFantazio - 25 (8.8%);
- Black Myth: Wukong - 21 (7.4%);
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - 12 (4.2%);
- Silent Hill 2 Remake - 11 (3.9%);
- Helldivers 2 - 8 (2.8%);
- Animal Well - 4 (1.4%);
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - 4 (1.4%).
Note that a number of awards and publications have not yet summarised the results of 2024, so this list can not be considered final, but it reflects the dynamics correctly.
Recall, the Elden Ring has become the most titled game in the world! The FromSoftware project has been named "Game of the Year" 325 times remains Elden Ring, which was awarded this honour 325 times, and before it the title belonged to the second part of The Last of Us, which in 2020 received 322 awards.
