After the not-so-successful release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare was finally able to turn its attention to the next Mass Effect, so details about the game have gradually started to emerge. Project manager Michael Gamble confirmed that the game will be made in a photorealistic style, while maintaining the "mature tone" of the original trilogy. However, his recent tweet raised speculation about the return of the Paragon and Renegade systems.

Here's What We Know

"Regarding Renegade and Paragon: Yes, it’s true that more people played Paragon. But, it would have been meaningless if Renegade had not existed. The ability to choose is stronger than the number of people playing any option, in my opinion."

User Kala Elizabeth added to the excitement by reposting an official image of a potential protagonist, highlighting what appears to be a weak Paragon symbol. Although Gamble clarified that his tweet was about the trilogy, he joked: "You'll just have to wait and see...".

Whether the next Mass Effect revives the iconic morality system or takes a different approach to player choice, expectations remain high. Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been criticised for excluding evil decisions and limiting confrontational dialogue, giving fans hope that Mass Effect will offer more freedom.

When We Can Expect It

The next Mass Effect does not currently have a release date, but it is rumoured to be released in 2029.
