Xbox Prime is coming: insider claims Microsoft's next-gen console will be released as early as 2026
The consensus in the gaming industry is that Sony and Microsoft's next-generation consoles will go on sale around 2028, maintaining the usual 8-year cycle of generational change, but a new rumour suggests that the US giant could be ahead of its main rival and release its device sooner.
Here's What We Know
Reputable insider TheGhostOfHope, who specialises in news about the Call of Duty franchise, has revealed that he is aware of Microsoft's plans to release the next-generation Xbox in 2026.
What's more, he even sounded out the name of the console - "Xbox Prime." The name sounds great, but the insider can't yet say if it's a working title or if the device will come out with that name.
TheGhostOfHope also shared interesting information that one of the first games on Xbox Prime will be the next instalment of Call of Duty from Infinity Ward studio, its release is expected in 2026.
The insider emphasised that for many representatives of the gaming industry Microsoft's plans are not a secret, but it is impossible to say that this is 100% correct information.
Take this with a huge grain of salt:

I'm hearing that the next Xbox console is still coming in 2026 and will be called "Xbox Prime". Still unclear if it's a code name or the actual name. I've heard Infinity Ward's next COD is still being considered a day one release for this. https://t.co/JKGMsKU9br
