As reported by insiders, simultaneously with the NVIDIA officially unveils next-generation graphics cards: RTX 50-series specifications and pricing revealed, Nvidia announced a new version of DLSS technology.

Here's What We Know

The company will update its proprietary image scaling technology to DLSS 4, which will provide even greater performance gains through the use of AI and neural shaders.

DLSS 4 will be available on all graphics cards starting with RTX 20, but buyers of the new line will get an additional option - Multi Frame Generation, which generates up to three additional frames for every regular frame, which increases FPS by up to 8 times compared to classic rendering.

DLSS 4 support is already announced for 75 games, including both released projects and those that will be available soon, but their catalogue will be constantly added.

Multi Frame Generation requires 5th generation tensor cores to run, with NVIDIA emphasising that while such cores are used in RTX 40-series graphics cards, MFG technology is exclusive to the RTX 50 series.

NVIDIA has unveiled a special video demonstrating the capabilities of DLSS 4, which includes 12 seconds of previously unseen footage of Doom: The Dark AgesDOOM: The Dark Ages could come out in May 2025: insider believes that the game will be demoed and release date will be announced in January this game will be released in May).
