On 7 January 2025, Apple presented the second beta version of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates for developers to test. These updates appear three weeks after the first beta version was released.

Here's What We Know

In order to install the update, users can go to the settings of their devices and go to the "General", "Software Update" section. The update is available for all compatible iPhone and iPad models.

It is important to note that iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 do not contain any new features related to Apple Intelligence. However, it is expected that these updates will bring support for HomeKit robotic vacuum cleaners, although this feature was not found in the first beta.

The iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates are likely to focus on bug fixes and software enhancements. Additional features for Siri related to Apple Intelligence are expected in the next updates - iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4.

Beta testing of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 currently began in December, and the final update may be released within the next few weeks.

Apple recently released the iOS 18.2.1 update to all iPhone users. It came less than a month after the release of iOS 18.2, which brought new Apple Intelligence features. Apple's notes on this release are extremely concise: "This update contains important bug fixes and is recommended for all users." Although the exact list of changes and fixes is not specified, it is clear that the main focus is on stability and bug fixes. New features are not expected in this update.
