Google has started rolling out a new feature in the Gboard keyboard for Android - an Undo button.

Here's What We Know

The feature was first spotted in development in July 2023 and is now available in the Gboard beta. The Undo button appears as a new shortcut that you can drag and drop into the suggestion bar for quick access. When clicked, Gboard cancels the last action one letter at a time unless an entire word or sentence has been deleted. "Undo" and "Redo" buttons are also available in the ribbon with corresponding icons.

In a brief test, the feature allows you to undo an action even if the keyboard has been closed and reopened. However, exiting the app resets the memory. If the action cannot be undone, pressing the Undo button causes inactive Undo/Redo tokens to appear. This feature is a useful addition to Gboard for Android and is available in version 14.9.06.x, which is in beta testing. Currently, the feature is only available on some Android devices.
