Late last year, there were rumours that the global version of OnePlus 13 might feature a "Find My Device" feature that can work when the device is switched off. Before that, it was only available in some Google Pixel smartphones and now, after the global launch of OnePlus 13, these rumours have been confirmed.

Here's What We Know

Our colleagues at Android Authority found mention of this feature in the OxygenOS 15 beta for the OnePlus 12 back in November last year and now they have been able to confirm it with the OnePlus 13 flagship's global launch.

The "Find My Device" feature, which supports the search function for a switched off smartphone, was previously only available on Google's Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 devices. It is now implemented in the OnePlus 13 as well, thanks to Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 embedded in the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This is especially useful if the phone is stolen, as many thieves try to switch off the device to avoid detection.

The OnePlus 13's power menu displays a message about the ability to find the phone even when it's switched off, and the "Find My Device" network settings page has an additional confirmation of this feature.

The new feature will help find the OnePlus 13 for hours even after the phone has been switched off or run out of battery. This could be an important consideration for potential buyers who want extra security in their device.
