Google has launched the Daily Listen experiment, which will allow users to listen to five-minute audio summaries of the day's main news created by artificial intelligence.

Here's What We Know

This new functionality will be available for both Android and iOS users in the US via Google Search Labs.

Daily Listen is essentially an audio summary of the most relevant news stories that match the interests of users identified through interaction with Google Discover. After joining the test, you will be able to listen to short but informative reviews based on the latest news and events that are in the top positions.

This tool uses artificial intelligence technologies similar to the Audio Overviews feature in NotebookLM, which allows you to create personalised podcasts with voice hosts. Daily Listen is known to generate audio summaries that contain everything you need to keep up with the latest events in a few minutes.

During testing in the Google app, users will receive not only an audio summary, but also a text transcript, which will allow them to check the details. In addition, there are rewind and fast-forward playback functions for those who want to get the main information even faster.

This experiment provides a convenient and quick access to news, which saves time by getting the main events of the day without having to read large texts. To join the test, users should activate the experiment in the Google app settings.
