For Nintendo fans, the new week started with incredible news. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 has become a real source of rumours, predictions, and leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2. The most interesting among them The Switch 2 presentation is now out of the way, with partner Nintendo unveiling a detailed mock-up of the new console and starting to advertise its accessories, but as it turned out, Genki did not expect such a stir.

Here's What We Know

IGN visited the Genki booth at the exhibition and talked to a representative of the company. He expressed surprise at the great attention to their layout.

I did not expect such a media hype

While the mockup looks impressive and confirms many of the previous leaks about the Switch 2, it's worth remembering that Nintendo hasn't made any official announcements about the new console yet.

A Genki representative confirmed that Joy-Cons are attached to the system with magnets and have metal SL/SR buttons that can be released by pressing a button on the back. Interestingly, the new console can physically fit into the old Nintendo Switch dock, but certain notches prevent it from being used in it.

Also, the representative could not confirm the information about the new "C" button on the right Joy-Con, which may be related to the camera. However, he noted that there is an additional USB port on the top of the Switch 2 that can be used for charging in portable mode.

According to IGN's measurements, the mockup is 10.5 inches wide, 4.5 inches high, and 0.5 inches thick with an 8-inch screen. This is larger than the current Nintendo Switch OLED model.

Now we can only wait for the official Nintendo announcement, which will hopefully take place before the end of this year.
