Xiaomi has unveiled the global version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G smartphone to coincide with the launch of a new series. Although the new product retains many similarities with the previous versions for India and China, there are a few changes that may surprise users.

Here's What We Know

The main feature of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is a 200MP camera that retains optical image stabilisation. However, compared to other versions, the global smartphone has the same sensor as last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. This means that the camera has a 1/1.4-inch sensor size with f/1.65 aperture, while some other variants have better parameters, including a 50MP sensor.

The display has also retained its appearance: A 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (1.5K), a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 3000 nits. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset and supports 45W fast charging.

But there are also negative aspects. Xiaomi has reduced the battery capacity - instead of 5500 mAh in previous versions, the battery is now 5110 mAh. Nevertheless, the price of the new product will remain at £299 or 399.90 euros (~$412) for the variant with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. For 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, you will have to pay 50 euros more.

The novelty will go on sale on 15 January, but at a new price and with a reduced battery capacity, consumers may be somewhat disappointed.
