An insider has revealed the key specs of Qualcomm's new pre-flagship Snapdragon 8s Elite chip
Last October, Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Now the specs of another version of this processor, the Snapdragon 8s Elite, which has the model number SM8735, have been revealed.
Here's What We Know
According to a leak from a Digital Chat Station insider, the new chip uses a 1+3+2+2+2 architecture with Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores, which has similarities with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The new chip will not use custom Oryon cores like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and its frequencies are 1 x 3.21 GHz, 3 x 3.01 GHz, 2 x 2.80 GHz and 2 x 2.02 GHz. The Adreno 825 GPU will also be inferior to the Adreno 830 used in the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The informant also reported that Snapdragon 8s Elite benchmark results in Geekbench 6 showed a score of 1967 for single-core and 5827 for multi-core mode on a prototype iQOO phone. The results may improve in the final version of the device.
iQOO and Redmi are expected to be the first to release devices based on this chip in April 2025.
