Huawei releases global Harmony OS 5.0 update for Watch GT 4 with new features

Huawei has started rolling out the global Harmony OS 5.0 update for its Watch GT 4 smartwatch. The update brings a number of new features, including a new screenshot tool, the ability to download offline maps, and enhanced running metrics. The user interface and notifications have also been improved.

The 5.0.0.36 update (SP1C00M07), which is 328 MB in size, is now available for users in a number of countries, including Romania and India. According to the release notes, the update brings an updated interface that is more intuitive. Two new watch faces - Route Beam and Eternal Moment - have been added, and activity rings have been improved with new customisation options. Users can now download offline maps for their outdoor workouts, as well as get new metrics for running, such as ground contact time and vertical oscillation.
The update also adds new features such as the ability to take screenshots, a calculator, and Smart Suggestions, which are intelligent workout recommendations based on exercise preferences, calorie consumption, and current weather conditions.




In addition, screen transition, push notifications and health accuracy have been improved.
The 5.0.0.36 (SP1C00M07) update is gradually rolling out to Huawei Watch GT 4 (46mm), and users can download it via the Huawei Health app. The exact date of availability of the update for all users is currently unknown.
