Authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman shared Apple's plans to release the next model of iPad Air, which may pleasantly surprise those who were planning to buy the gadget.

Here's What We Know

Gurman said that the iPad Air will be released in the spring of 2025 and its main feature will be the use of the current M4 chip instead of M3.

The author believes that Apple could repeat its strategy by releasing a new device while skipping the last generation processor, as it was the case with the iPad Pro, when in May 2024 it came out immediately with the M4 chip, bypassing the M3.

Gurman sees no reason why Apple would abandon a modern chip in favour of an outdated one. The author also noted that although visually the tablet won't change from the previous model, it will be much more powerful, thanks to the capabilities of the M4 chip, and will likely get Apple's new 5G modem.
