Despite total isolation and a huge number of sanctions, Iran produces a huge amount of fairly advanced weapons, most of which are used to destabilise the situation in the Middle East and sell them to other rogue countries, such as russia.

Iran's military-industrial complex has developed a new short-range air defence system called Tondar ("Thunder").

Here's What We Know

Since Iran is an extremely closed country and information about its achievements appears with great delay, data on the technical characteristics of the Tondar remains unknown, but Army Recognition observers have learnt that the Tondar was first spotted at the Eqtedar 1403 military exercise earlier this month.

Tondar is a military system that takes a minimal amount of time to deploy, making it suitable for defending critical facilities from low-flying threats such as drone and cruise missile attacks. Most likely, Iranian air defence units plan to use Tondar to cover nuclear facilities and troop locations that regularly come under air attacks from Israel and its allies.

The development of such mobile platforms is part of Iran's ambitious programme to improve its combat capabilities, which are already at a fairly high level.
