In Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, a remaster of the 2010 game developed by Retro Studios, the credits do not include names from the original team. Although Forever Entertainment is responsible for the port, Nintendo decided not to include the names of Retro Studios' developers in the final credits, stating only that the game is "based on the work of the original team".

Here's What We Know

This is not the first time Nintendo has ignored the merits of original developers. In 2023, former Retro Studios engineer Zoid Kirsch expressed his disappointment with the lack of names in the Metroid Prime Remastered credits. It seems that Nintendo continues this practice, which has caused outrage among fans and developers.

Players consider this decision to be a disrespect to the efforts of the Retro Studios team that turned Donkey Kong into a successful franchise. They believe that credits are important to recognise the work of those behind the creation of their favourite games.
