Shokz introduces OpenFit 2: new open headphones with improved sound
Shokz, a company known for its "unique" open headphone solutions, has introduced a new model - OpenFit 2. These wireless headphones promise improved sound quality and comfort for users who want to stay aware of what's going on around them.
Here's What We Know
OpenFit 2 features DualBoost technology, which includes two separate drivers in each earcup: a large 17.3mm bass driver for deep bass and an independent high-frequency driver for clear midrange and treble. This provides a more detailed reproduction of music. DirectPitch 2.0 and OpenBass 2.0 technologies minimise sound leakage and boost bass frequencies by directing vibrations directly to the ear.
For clear voice transmission in noisy environments, the headphones feature two artificial intelligence MEMS microphones that effectively suppress ambient noise. The Shokz app offers four preset equalisers, the ability to create custom settings and a headphone search function.
Each earphone weighs 9.3g and is IP55 water and dust resistant. The soft Ultra-Soft Silicone 2.0 silicone and ergonomic design with ear hooks provide comfort and a secure fit, even during intense workouts.
The charging case weighs 53g and provides up to 48 hours of battery life along with the earbuds, which themselves last up to 11 hours on a single charge. A quick charge within 10 minutes gives an additional 2 hours of playback. Bluetooth 5.4 allows you to connect the headphones to two devices simultaneously.
Context
Shokz OpenFit 2 is available at a price of $180. In addition, the company announced the OpenMeet headset for professional use, which will go on sale in February 2025.
