Recently, an insider has revealed information about Xiaomi's plans to launch a new series of smartphones - Xiaomi 15S.

Here's What We Know

According to the leak, Xiaomi is already working on updating its flagship lineup and plans to release the Xiaomi 15S Pro model in mid-2025. This will be an update for the Xiaomi 15 series, which has not yet been officially introduced to the global market.

The main feature of Xiaomi 15S Pro will be the new Surge S2 chipset developed by Xiaomi. This chipset is codenamed "XRING" and is a direct descendant of the Surge S1, which debuted in 2017 in the Mi 5c smartphone. The Surge S2 will be built on 3nm technology based on ARM cores and should demonstrate high performance, although, according to previous leaks, it may have performance similar to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This raises the question of how it will compete with the top models running on Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Given these plans, Xiaomi is likely to focus on improving internal performance without drastic changes to the design or features of the base model.

As for the design and other features of the Xiaomi 15S Pro, we only know that the company is not planning any major changes to the appearance of the smartphone. At the same time, we can expect that Xiaomi will continue to work on improving cameras, displays, and other components to remain competitive in the market.

This announcement is likely to take place in the middle of the year, when the company will introduce new flagships.
