In mid-December, Apple filed regulatory documents for the Powerbeats Pro 2 with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). These documents became available to the public this week and were spotted by 91Mobiles.

Here's What We Know

They confirm that the company is actively preparing for the launch of new headphones. In particular, it is stated that the left and right headphones will have A3157 and A3158 models, respectively, and the charging case will be A3160.

In addition, Apple filed similar documents with the Bureau of Indian Standards in November, as reported by 91Mobiles.

Powerbeats Pro 2 will be a sports version of the AirPods Pro wireless headphones with a focus on fitness. They will have built-in adjustable hooks for a secure fit.

In a teaser video released last year, MLB star Shohei Ottani appeared in the new Powerbeats Pro 2, showing off a more upright and slimmer design compared to the original Powerbeats Pro, which are now out of production.

According to preliminary data, the new headphones will support heart rate monitoring during workouts. They will be able to connect to exercise equipment, such as a treadmill, to measure heart rate, and the data will be displayed in the Health app on the iPhone. Support for active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and adaptive sound has also been confirmed.

The new Powerbeats Pro 2 will be available in the following colours: orange, purple, black and beige. The charging case will have a USB-C port. Given the latest trends in Beats headphones, we expect improved sound quality, longer battery life, and improved compatibility with Android, including support for the Find My Device feature.

Although Apple has not yet given an exact release date, regulatory documents suggest that the release could take place in the coming months.
