Planet Coaster 2 developers publish roadmap with updates
After a strong launch and a negative reaction to the paid DLC, Frontier Developments is working to improve Planet Coaster 2 with a series of updates detailed in the roadmap until 2025.
Here's What We Know
February's update introduces custom video billboards, speakers, interchangeable coasters, standard coasters, and synchronised coasters. Fans of the original game will also welcome the return of the Pathos 3 flat ride. Other updates include tweaks to the multiplayer tools, guest navigation, and performance, efficiency, and stability improvements.
March Update 2 adds the long-awaited guest launch feature from chutes, as well as round-bottom chutes and an inflatable warp. Quarry mode maps can be used as starter layouts in sandbox mode, and the update also adds a second wave of coasters and another ride. Frontier promises further improvements to stability, performance and control systems, as well as adjustments for ride operators.
"New features" are expected to be unveiled in April, but there are few specifics at this time, and no content has been announced for May. Frontier has hinted that they will use themes from the original Planet Coaster attraction, but did not share further details.
The next Frontier Unlocked livestream, scheduled for 26 February, will provide a detailed look at updates 2 and 3.
