Here's What We Know

According to Scramble, the last aircraft landed at Tanagra airbase on 9 January 2025, completing the delivery of an additional batch of six aircraft. This was the result of an agreement signed in March 2022.

Today, Rafale fighter jets form the backbone of the 332nd Squadron of the Greek Air Force, which patrols the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The 2021 contract provided for the purchase of 12 used aircraft from the French Air Force and six new F3R aircraft. The total value of the first batch was €2.5 billion, including weapons systems, training and infrastructure. In 2022, Greece ordered another six new Rafales for €1.1 billion.

The first fighter arrived in the country in July 2021, and the delivery of additional aircraft allowed the squadron to complete its manning.
