The day has come!

After a huge amount of rumours, leaks, insiders, speculation and speculation, Nintendo has finally officially announced their new console.

Here's What We Know

It's called the Nintendo Switch 2 and conceptually it's not much different from the previous model. As reported by insiders (by the way, almost all their information has been confirmed), the device's display will be slightly larger, and Joy-Con controllers are fixed with magnetic mounts and are also slightly larger.

From the video we learnt that Switch 2 is backwards compatible (including with cartridges) with all Switch games and will get a lot of exclusives.

The colour scheme of the new device has become stricter, it is dominated by graphite, and bright coloured inserts can be seen only in the place of Joy-Con attachment and around the sticks. There is a stand behind the screen, which will allow you to place the console at different angles.

A docking station and retainer is included to create a gamepad out of the Joy-Con.

Nintendo hasn't revealed the games that will be available on the Switch 2 launch lineup other than Mario Kart, but did say that there will be a Nintendo Direct show on 2 April where it will apparently reveal the new titles.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launch date is listed as "2025."

Few details can be found on the official Switch 2 website.
