LG launches new 27-inch gaming monitor UltraGear G8 with 240Hz screen frequency in 4K mode and 480Hz in 1080p mode

LG, a well-known South Korean electronics manufacturer, has unveiled its latest 27-inch gaming monitor, the UltraGear G8. The device is currently available in the markets of China and Japan.

Here's What We Know

The monitor features a 4K Nano IPS Black display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, providing deep contrast and high colour accuracy. It supports two refresh modes: 240Hz at 4K resolution and 480Hz at 1080p resolution. The response time is only 1ms (GtG), which significantly reduces motion blur.

Other key features include a 2000:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits of brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. The monitor also supports NVIDIA G-Sync, VESA AdaptiveSync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies for a smooth gaming experience. In terms of connectivity, the device features DisplayPort 2.1, two HDMI 2.1 ports, USB Type-A and a 4-pin headphone jack. It is important to note that the monitor has no inbuilt speakers.

Currently, the LG UltraGear G8 27" is priced at around $818 in China. The global rollout of this product is expected to happen soon, allowing more users around the world to appreciate its capabilities.
