Wayans 2 became the first animated film in 2025 to earn $1 billion at the box office
In the first month of 2025, Disney managed to reach an achievement when its cartoon raised one billion dollars, and this project was Moana 2.

The sequel premiered on 27 November 2024 and took just under two weeks to earn $1 billion at the box office.
In the United States, the film grossed $445 million, and $567 million worldwide.
Interestingly, the first instalment managed to gross $643 million in 2016, so the sequel managed to outgross the original by almost two times.
In Wayana 2, the action takes place three years after the events of the first part, when Wayana, now the new leader of the Motunui tribe, receives a calling from her ancestor Tautai Vasa. She learns that the evil storm god Nalo has flooded the legendary island of Motufetu, which connects all the islands of Oceania.
Wayana gathers a team of friends, including the demigod Maui, to embark on a dangerous journey to restore the connection with the ocean. On her way, the heroine encounters new challenges, bizarre creatures and old enemies.
