Samsung Fold7 may lose S Pen support for slimmer body
A new report suggests that Samsung Fold7 may lose one of the key features that previous models in the series had. According to preliminary information, the Fold7 may go the way of the Fold Special Edition, which is only available in South Korea and China.
Here's What We Know
Since Fold3, Samsung has been supporting the use of the S Pen stylus on its main foldable smartphones, including last year's Fold6. However, this support has been removed from the Fold Special Edition. This decision allowed to reduce the thickness of the device by more than 12%, to 4.9 mm in the unfolded state and 10.6 mm in the folded state.
The Elec confirms that the rumours about the refusal to support the S Pen in Fold7 may be true. However, there is still a possibility that the company will retain this feature. It is expected that the new product will be a global version of the Fold Special Edition with a new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Galaxy.

Unlike the original Snapdragon 8 Elite, the new version has one high-performance core disabled, so it is more economical and heats up less. This makes it more suitable for use in foldable and ultra-thin smartphones such as the Galaxy Flip 7, Galaxy Fold 7, and Galaxy S25 Slim.
The Fold7 is likely to receive the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite variant, providing high performance and new features for users. Details about the official presentation have not yet been disclosed, but the gadget promises to be a significant update to the series. The foldable devices are expected to go on sale in mid-2025, and the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Slim is rumoured to be available in May.
