WhatsApp finally allows you to add music to statuses

WhatsApp is launching a new feature that allows users to add music to status updates.
Here's What We Know
The feature, first spotted during development in beta 2.24.22.11, is now being tested with a larger audience through the new WhatsApp for Android beta 2.25.2.5, available through the Google Play Beta Programme.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is adding a new feature to statuses: you can now add music. Using the "Music" button in the status editor, you can choose a song from the extensive Meta library (the same as on Instagram). Search for your favourite hits, trending songs or artists and add them to your photos or videos.

Beta testers say that adding music to WhatsApp statuses is quick and easy. You simply choose a song, select a 15-second snippet for a photo, or set the length for a video. Those who view your status will see the name of the song and artist, and can also go to the artist's Instagram profile directly through WhatsApp.
The option is currently only available to selected beta testers, but WhatsApp plans to roll it out to more users soon. To try it, update WhatsApp to the latest beta version.
Instagram has announced a new video editor called Edits that will be available in March 2025. It will offer advanced tools such as AI effects, green screens, and watermark-free exports, and will integrate seamlessly with Instagram for real-world analytics.
