Canon has announced a new live streaming app called Live Switcher Mobile, which is currently only available for iOS devices.

Here's What We Know

The app allows users to switch between up to three cameras with just a few taps, making it convenient for creating dynamic broadcasts. However, the app has one major limitation: it does not support Canon cameras.

Live Switcher Mobile allows you to set how many seconds a particular angle of view remains active on a camera before automatically switching to another. In addition, the app supports on-screen captions and real-time comments, but this feature is only available for YouTube and Twitch broadcasts. It is also possible to broadcast to other platforms that support RTMP, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

The app is free, but its free version only supports resolutions up to 720p and has ads and watermarks on the screen. For those who want additional features such as image overlays, picture-in-picture, and zoom, a paid subscription is available for $18 per month, which also raises the maximum resolution to 1080p and removes ads and watermarks.

Compared to free apps such as OBS Studio and Streamlabs, Live Switcher Mobile has fewer features, which means Canon still has a lot of work to do to make the paid version worth the investment.

However, support for Canon cameras, according to the company, will be coming in the near future.
