Turkey's KIZILELMA is the first unmanned fighter jet to successfully pass the test

Turkey's Baykar Technologies has successfully completed another flight test of its Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned fighter jet. This is the first unmanned fighter aircraft developed in Turkey and its development is progressing according to schedule.
Here's What We Know
The tests took place at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Centre in Çorlu, Tekirdag. The Bayraktar KIZILELMA PT-3 (tail number TC-ÖZB3) was tested for system identification, which is a key step in assessing its capabilities.
The production prototype has received significant improvements: a new engine with afterburner for near supersonic speed, aerodynamic modifications that increase manoeuvrability and range, and a state-of-the-art AESA radar to improve situational awareness. The aircraft is capable of performing complex missions and taking off from short runways such as the TCG Anadolu, which increases its effectiveness in maritime operations.
The KIZILELMA project started in 2021, and the first prototype flew in December 2022. In 2023, the aircraft demonstrated interoperability during joint flights with Bayraktar AKINCI, F-16 SOLOTÜRK and F-5 Turkish Stars at TEKNOFEST 2023.
Baykar Technologies earned $1.8 billion from exports in 2023, accounting for 90% of its revenue. The company signed agreements with 35 countries, strengthening its position in the global defence market.
