Google has finally resolved the back gesture issue on Pixel devices that appeared after the update to Android 15.

Here's What We Know

Many users experienced inconsistencies when activating the back gesture by swiping inward on the right side of the screen. Temporary solutions such as switching to three-button navigation, rebooting, and adjusting gesture sensitivity only helped some users. The bug remained an issue for the majority.

Google has confirmed that a fix will be released in an upcoming update. The bug entry in Google's issue tracker now has a "Fixed" status, and a Google employee has confirmed that the fix will appear in an "upcoming release."

The root cause of the bug has not yet been disclosed, but Google is expected to provide more details when the fix is released. The Android 15 update brought several new features to Pixel devices, but also caused this annoying bug that has been bothering users for months.
