Samsung's Galaxy S22 series smartphones are also getting a new security update in the US

Following the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series, a new January security update has also become available for the Galaxy S22 series flagships.

Samsung has released a new security patch for the carrier-unlocked US versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones, which have model numbers SM-S901U1, SM-S906U1 and SM-S908U1. This software update, which fixes a total of 51 vulnerabilities, changes their firmware versions to S901U1UES7EXL8, S906U1UES7EXL8 and S908U1UES7EXL8.
The Galaxy S22 series is expected to get a big One UI 7 system update based on Android 15 soon, which the supported Galaxy S series smartphones will receive in the first quarter of 2025. This will be the third of their four big updates for the S22 series. The last major system update that this line of smartphones will get will be Android 16 with One UI 8.
