Ram has cancelled the 1500 REV pickup with a huge 229 kWh battery and 500 miles of range

Ram has decided to cancel the production of the electric pickup truck 1500 REV, which was supposed to get a huge 229 kWh battery with a range of up to 500 miles (804 km). This was reported by Mopar Insiders, which has obtained correspondence between the company and suppliers from "reliable sources".
Here's What We Know
According to the report, Stellantis, Ram's parent company, is asking suppliers to suspend all work related to the Ram 1500 BEV XL. The document does not mention a specific reason for the cancellation of the half-ton pickup truck with a long range. Responding to Motor1 's request Stellantis referred to its own press release from December last year, which stated that the Ramcharger plug-in hybrid with Range Extender was given priority over the fully battery-powered Ram 1500 REV.
At the same time, a standard version of the Ram 1500 REV with a 168 kWh battery providing a range of about 350 miles (563 km) remains in production plans. It supports fast charging thanks to its 800-Volt architecture, allowing it to add up to 110 miles (177 km) of range in 10 minutes.
Ram 1500 Ramcharger

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger is a 663 hp plug-in hybrid pickup that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds. It has a 92 kWh battery and a 130-kilowatt alternator powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine, providing a total range of up to 690 miles (1,110 km). Maximum payload is 2,625 lb (1,190 kg) and towing capacity is up to 14,000 lb (6,350 kg).
Orders for the Ramcharger are expected to open in the first half of 2025, with the Ram 1500 REV launching in 2026.
